The Spiritans have been active in Ghana for the last 40 years. In 2009 the expatriate missionaries disengaged themselves from Ghana and the local Spiritans took over the management and works of the congregation in Ghana. The Province of Ghana is a young and new circumscription of dedicated missionaries working in the most deprived and marginalized rural areas.
The Province of Ghana currently works in eight dioceses most in the least developed rural areas of Ghana. Aidlink and the Province of Ghana have signed a partnership agreement, from November 2010 to November 2012.

The Province of Ghana, in their Strategic Plan (2010-2015), outline their current priorities:
Water and Sanitation
Women Empowering Programme
Food Security
Construction of Primary Schools
Construction of Workshops at Adankwame Technical Vocational School Institute
The vast majority of funding comes from the immersion programme Aidlink facilitates with St. Mary’s Secondary School, Rathmines. Fundraising for projects in Ghana is a part of the programme. The immersion visit is part of a two year programme: a year preparing and fundraising followed by the trip and then a year of exhibitions, presentations, and feedback.
Usually a group of around 50 students with teachers and a support team travel to Ghana every two years. The students spend one week attending classes with their Ghanaian peers in a secondary school. They also spend one week as teaching assistants in a primary school English language project and visit projects which have been funded by previous immersion funds.
Aidlink and the Province of Ghana have been working together since 2004 on a range of projects mainly in education and water and sanitation. 2010 sees the inclusion of a food security with a project in Yapei, Northern Region.
